When I started my wedding photography business, there were few things of which I was absolutely certain. I knew that I was entering an industry that is increasingly inspiring, creative, and full of elation. I knew that I would be able to experiment with technique and constantly evolve my style and approach. I knew that I would learn from others, grow through mistakes, and thrive in success. I knew that I wanted to wholly invest my time, energy, and strength into creating lasting and meaningful art. And I knew that I would meet a lot of good people, and become fully acquainted with their journeys, stories, relationships, and love, but to what extent, I had no idea. Wedding photography has proven to be about more than taking photos. It is about connections and relationships, and being a friend. It is about understanding the fabric of the bride and groom, and becoming integrated in their journey, their story, their relationship, and their love. It is about simply getting to know other people, and sharing in their happiness, laughter, smiles, and emotions on one of the most important days of their lives. Ultimately, it is fulfilling, encouraging, and it just feels right.
Katie and Jon are no exception. They reinforce my above sentiments, consistently, with such ease and candidness. It made for a fun engagement session, and it left me with even more anticipation and excitement for their upcoming wedding. Katie and Jon are definitely our friends, and I cannot wait to share in everything that will be their beautiful wedding day. : )
